Wells Town Hall sits at the centre of the city’s Market Place, with Bishops Palace and Wells Cathedral just a few steps away. When I talk about Wells Town Hall wedding photography, I’m thinking about the way natural light pours through those tall sash windows, because the light is so bright and airy and a complete breeze to work with. It's a photographer's dream.
The building feels grand but never stuffy, which is perfect for couples who want heritage + heart without the formality of a stately home.
One reason I love Wells Town Hall wedding photography is the two-minute photo walk radius.
We can slip out for portraits against the medieval archways of the Bishop’s Palace, grab confetti shots in the cobbled Market Place, and still have time for a quick wander down Vicar’s Close (the oldest residential street in Europe) before your guests notice we’re gone.
No long car rides and no clock-watching and every backdrop feels like part of the same story.

tips for wells town hall wedding couples

Confetti exit: The Market Place is open to the public, so plan a quick usher-assist line-up and have your biodegradable petals ready in baskets; quick organisation keeps tourists from drifting through the frame.
Group shots: The Town Hall entrance are perfect for your “everyone” photo where guests stand in front of the beautiful building, and I can back up onto the opposite pavement for a clean, wide composition.
Sometimes the venue are kind enough to open the doors to the balcony for me to get a shot from above, which is even more perfect as you can get everyone's faces in frame.

What to expect from me

My approach is candid, raw, and true to life. I’ll blend in with your guests until a group shot needs wrangling, then step up with clear, friendly direction so nobody’s left wondering where to stand.
